We Built the Service We Wish Existed

Movingto started with a suitcase and a spreadsheet.

I'm Dean Fankhauser — founder of Movingto. My wife Ana and I have moved our family across five countries: London, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and most recently Sydney, Australia. Every time, we hit the same wall — contradictory advice from forums, opaque legal fees, immigration lawyers who wouldn't return emails, and fund managers who spoke in jargon designed to confuse rather than clarify.

After our own Golden Visa journey in Portugal — and after watching friends burn months and thousands of euros on the wrong advisors — we decided to build what we couldn't find: a single platform where you get matched with a licensed immigration lawyer from day one, where fees are transparent before you commit, and where someone actually picks up the phone.

Today, Movingto has helped over 2,500 families secure residency across Portugal, Greece, Italy, and Spain. We maintain a 98% approval rate — not because we cherry-pick easy cases, but because we're meticulous about eligibility screening before anyone signs a retainer.

Dean Fankhauser — CEO & Co-Founder
Australian serial entrepreneur with a background in big tech and finance. Previously held senior roles at Santander, Yahoo!, and Nuji (acquired by Klarna). Dean also founded Bitcompare, one of the largest cryptocurrency comparison platforms. Bachelor of Business from Swinburne University of Technology. Has lived and worked in five countries. Ana Fankhauser — Co-Founder & Head of Operations
Manages all client operations and partner relationships across Movingto's European offices. Ana ensures every case file moves through our structured workflow on time, and that client communication never goes dark. Her experience relocating with a young family across four countries shaped the operational standards Movingto is built on.

We're a family business. Ana and I run Movingto alongside a coordination team in Lisbon and licensed lawyers in each destination country. We don't employ the lawyers — you engage them directly. We manage the process, the timeline, and the communication so nothing falls through the cracks.
