Movingto Research is the set of datasets Movingto publishes on Portugal Golden Visa permits and Golden Visa processing times. Each page names its sources and shows when it was last updated.

Source standard

Official figures come from AIMA reports and SEF archives. Processing times come from Movingto's own anonymised case data and are labelled as such. Updated 23 October 2026.

Portugal Golden Visa Statistics

AIMA granted 2,685 Golden Visas to main investors in 2025, up 29% from 2,081 in 2024, plus 3,967 family reunification permits.
AIMA Migration and Asylum Reports 2025 (published 22 September 2026) and 2024. The 29% change is calculated by Movingto.

Across 13 Movingto Portugal Golden Visa cases submitted from September 2025 to September 2026, AIMA scheduled the biometrics appointment a median 11.7 months (357 days) after submission.

Days between dated stages in Movingto's own Portugal Golden Visa case files, published as anonymised totals every month. It is a small sample from one firm, mostly fund-route cases, not an official statistic.

Methodology

Market figures come from official sources only: AIMA, SEF archives and Portuguese law.
A figure that was not published is left blank. We never estimate a missing value.
Calculated values, such as year-on-year changes and shares, are our arithmetic on the official figures and are labelled as calculated.
Movingto's own case data is kept apart from official statistics. It is published as anonymised aggregates only: counts, medians, quartiles and ranges.
A case-data interval is published only when at least five cases have both dates. No client names, individual dates, process numbers or nationalities are published.
Every page shows when it was last updated and lists its sources.
